After sending the grade school children
to Our Savior's Lutheran School in Wausau for a number of years,
St. Peter decided it was time to open its own Christian Day School.
In the fall of 1977, the doors were opened to 41 pupils, taught
by Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Lanphear, in the old D.C. Everest Administration
Building. Three years of rapid growth required the addition of more
teachers. By1981, the school had outgrown its building and classes
were held in the church. The congregation voted to build a new school.
On March 7, 1982, St. Peter Lutheran School was dedicated for the
education of our children and of neighboring WELS congregations. |
